The worst place I've seen with my own eyes was somewhere in Mangere, South Auckland a few years back. I can't be more specific because I was in a taxi heading from the airport to a job interview. In the area we drove through, fences around people's gardens were falling over and covered with graffiti. Gardens were a mess. Litter was everywhere. Crime rates and gang activity are apparently a big problem too. Certainly not a place I'd go back to in a hurry.

Sand Fly Point: The name say's it all, after a three day trek along the Milford Track you end up at sand fly point to await the boat. As ther name suggests the place is infested with sand flies....so many you can taste them and they taste you..........to the point of distraction...pray that boats not late..or you'll be tea, supper and breakfast for the little blighters! The question is, is the worst place in New Zealand better than the best place in Britain? Laughing

It had better be after all the hassle to get the paperwork!
