Hi
We were selected 2 weeks ago and just had a letter this morning to say they will start verifying in the next couple of weeks and then if it all seems good we will be invited to apply for PR.
Just wanted to know other peoples experiences of this, how long did it all take?
We have booked medicals for next week and I know they only last 3 months. I wanted to get them done and OK'd as I have had medical problems in the past that could slow it all down so would rather get the ball rolling now and I am dreading the whole medical process !

Michelle
If it were me i would delay the appointements with doctors, for a month or so.
Visa applications are now being processed quicker, but not that quick.
It's a lot of money to pay twice. |

Thanks for replying
Oh dear, I am just worried as we go begining of Sept on work visas and I know my health is going to be an issue so wanted the OK before we sell everything leave jobs etc. Don't want to get out there and not be allowed to stay. What stage do we submit the medicals ? if we can do that as soon as we are invited to apply we should be ok shouldn't we ?

Going on a work visa, submitted an EOI a few weeks ago and was selected 2 weeks ago so waiting for the verification to start. We have 170 points and the selection was at 140. Hoping it will be fairly straightforward, we have(I hope) got all the necessary documents together.
Submitted a work visa as we didn't know how long the whole PR process would take and we really need to be going by mid sept at the latest.

Right,
if you are going on a work visa, the paper work shouldn't take long,
about one month.
Alternatively i think you can have the medicals done in NZ, where they are also cheaper.
I am sure someone will correct me if i am wrong. |

Well hopefully we will be at the invitation to apply before we go then.
The medicals are cheaper in NZ but I want mine doing here as its easier to get hold of all my past medical history stuff whilst in the UK also any problems will be easier to sort out from here.
What stage are you at ? |
