Hello,
A contact I've got in NZ told me that if you go there with tourist visa you have to show the return ticket in the airport and if you don't have it they force you to buy it.
Can anyone confirm it?
Thanks. |

Firstly, if you are a British passport holder and have legal right to live in UK you do not need a Visitors Visa
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/Migrant/Stream/Visit/Visitors/CanIVisitNZ/AllAboutVisasAndPermits/DontNeedAVisa/
Secondly, you will not automatically be asked to show your return ticket but you may be pulled over by immigration - everyone will be asked to fill in immigration forms on the way in (usually done on the plane) and this form will ask you for your flight details - there will also be an exit card/form to complete at the same time and this will remain with your passport until you leave NZ.. if I remember rightly the card asks for your flight details.

| Also, an onward ticket is aceptable - if you also have the necesary visas to travel onwards as well. We are arriving on a one way, but with an onward ticket / visa to Oz. NZIS tell us this will be fine. |

hi, ruthyroo!
i wanted to thank you for the brilliant idea! now instead of getting a two way ticket from the states to nz - we're going to get a one-way to nz plus an onward ticket to OZ or fiji (as a back up plan). one way or another - we're not returning to the states.
(this will make it easier to match possible extended visa with flight ticket etc.)
..now we're talking!

| We were recommended Virgin Blue, who were about £80 Wellington to Sydney, one way. You can also apply for your OZ visa online, and get it approved on the spot. We checked this out with NZIS in london and they didn't have any problem with it. And now we have a December holiday to Sydney to look forward to ! |
