i would like to know the following :

is there any possibility of getting casual skillful employment while a person is on a tourist visa to nz. if so whether he can earn substantial money I mean sufficient enough to pull his day to day affair plus save a bit. any estimates based on assumption of minimum wage payments on hourly basis. 5 or 6 day week is no problem.

what shall be the average expenses per month if he is a teetotaller, non smoker and have good habits like inclined to work hard and adjust to any circumstances or situations.

during the period whether there is any possiblity to meet the locals, consultants, potential employers, references to explore and achieve success in getting a permanent job : of course, based on the individual performance and to the satisfaction of the employers which would ultimately help in obtaining a resident visa ?

how much time it would take if a person obtains a job offer letter as stated in the preceding paragraph for processing time of a residence visa to be applied by that person on shore in nz with nzis itself.

i hope i have clarified the above questions. any expert suggestions, opinions and experiences WELCOME AND HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
THANX

A tourist visa expressly prohibits work in NZ and with a small population there are few people to hide amongst. The police, press and local population love to see overstayers and illegal workers kicked out and banned from returning. In short - forget it!

Depending on your country of origin you could apply for a working holiday visa which would allow you to work. If you are in the UK you are almost certain to be accepted. See the NZIS website for details.

However, it is not illegal or against a visitors visa to LOOK for work whilst you are in NZ - one of a few countries to allow this - but after getting a job offer you must get your work visa.
