Hi there.
Just got my work visas through for me and the family, and are now looking at booking flights for around the 8th July.
Can anybody tell me if we need a special travel insurance policy, for emigration purposes, or would a standard policy be sufficient?
Thanks
Mike. |

| From what I can see in other posts, a standard policy will not be ok.. you are immigrating,a and country of domicile is no longer the uk.. |

If you come out on a work visa technically you have not migrated! You have only done so once you have gained PR/Citizenship status and as such you are still a British citizen. We came out on work visas and had no trouble with standard travel insurance. For clarity though best to check with the insurance companies. I am assuming you only require cover for the flight itself and your baggage etc! It is worth taking out life and house and contents insurance when you get here with a local company. We use State insurance who are very competative for all forms of insurance www.state.co.nz
Hope this helps!!!! |
