Dont spend your precious migration money on a holiday try out of NZ. The more reasonable priced way is to get hitched up with one of the house exchange groups on the net, I wont advertise any special one but if you put something like Holiday house exchange into Google, you should be able to do a suitable swap for a couple of weeks/ months with one of the groups which pop up, often a car swap is available too!!
And guess what, you should then be able to get a NZ reference of your housekeeping abilities!
Tip:- A NZ family will not want to spend a holiday in England-Canada-USA in the winter.
You will probably have more luck 'tween seasons, say Feb, March, April, or Sept, Oct.

One of my neighbours is a teacher and he goes back to the UK every 3 years in mid-winter there because thats when he gets his long summer break here.
BTW does anybody know what proportion of house exchangers end up regretting it? |

Hi
Just been reading on another forum and they are talking about setting up a house swop thread for their members, don't know whether people think this may be a good idea for this forum
People who have made the move could use it to come home and vist relatives/friends and people thinking of making the move could have a try and see if NZ does suit them/job hunt etc
probably not as easy as it sounds but any ideas?
