1. It's looks like I get more points (10 points more) when I calculate them myself! As I understand it, I don't get two 5 bonus points. It's possible?

2. In any way I need a job offer. What are my options to go to NZ to apply for jobs and for interviews? Can I do it with a tourist visa?

Thanks

Hi Joji2

I am assuming that you have used the online points indicator on the NZIS website http://www.immigration.govt.nz/pointsindicator/

Your job offer and qualifications will attract bonus points, if they are in a NZ identified future growth area, a cluster, or absolute skills shortage.
I do not know how you have calculated your points, by reading your mail.

You could search for jobs and attend interviews while you are in NZ on a visitors permit, but if you then approach immigration for a work permit while in NZ, they might question you regarding your intentions, and decline your application for a work visa/permit.

I hope the above helps

Merry Xmas and a Happy new year

You right, I used the Points Indicator.

After checking again, I don't get 10 bonus points for:

Additional bonus points for work experience in an identified future growth area, identified cluster or area of absolute skills shortage:

6 years or more 10

If that's the case, how should we go about looking a job in NZ? As I understand, not many emplyers are willing to hire someone who is not yet arrived in NZ.

Colin

Please let me have your email address so that I could send you a link for
a recruitment agency that has a money back guarantee.

Also try and seek employment outside Auckkand so that you can qualify for bonus points, when you submit an Expression of Interest in the near future.

There is no easy way to got job offers, unless your skills are in an absolute shortage area like IT. It is comforting to note that some companies are willing to offer you a job offer based upon a telephone interview. - see JCM's post under the topic 'young plumber and family seek new life'

Hi Abdul,

Please contact me at teckfuh@lycos.com.

I am a programmer who has been working for 5 years. My primary development language is Microsoft C# and I found this skill in the shortage area list.

What I plan to do is to get a job in NZ, work for 2 to 3 years, settle down, then only apply for citizenship.

Merry x'mas to all
