Hi Everyone,
So great to find this forum, and great site!
I just had a question regarding the Universities.
My boyfriend and I will be attending the Uni of Auckland in July, as new MA students-- (provided everything goes beautifully with our Visa's!)
Any American or UK students have any experiences either in the University or out, that we might not be aware of? (different teaching style etc.) Anyone have any tips about the university, life in Auckland etc..?
We would like to live on the North Shore from all we have read, any idea on the commute times to the main City, Tamaki campuses?
Also, we have heard horror stories about students getting to NZ, visa in hand, and being told they had to leave and were unable to enter the country. Supposedly, these were conscientious students, who made some unknown mistakes-- anyone know about this?
ANY TIPS about driving, living in NZ, social customs to be aware of that differ significantly from the US etc, would be GREATLY appreciated!
So thrilled to be coming to this beautiful country, nervous about braving the cold, after growing up in Hawaii however!
Thanks everyone!
