Hi all
It's already become clear in real terms whjat NZIS is doing - going slow and approving NZ based cases forst.
Here's the "why", from Parliament's Select Committee, Finance and Expenditure, Review of Department of Labour, 2002/03
Min Dalziel: "...It is absolutely vital that we get the people we need as a priority. So those that have already been working in New Zealand for 12 months or more, particularly those who have got a job outside Auckland, in an area of skill, then they are going to be prioritised over everyone else. "
Why the hell they don't make this clear, put it up on front page of the web site and add comment that priority will ge given to anyone scoring about 150+ (points combo for that profile). At least those with fewer points wouldn't have been so misled into spending a few hundred bucks for naff all.
Comes down to lack of imagination is marketing, me thinks.

Hear hear Jamie,
As you've said many times before, the communication about the new SMC has been terrible. I'm sure that many people will feel they have been mislead by the whole system and will think twice about reapplying in future. However, these are very likely people who do have valuable skills and experience to contribute to NZ, but who haven't been willing to take the gamble of throwing in everything to come to NZ on a job search. Just take a look at the calibre of person on this forum for a start. All of them could make a valuable contribution to NZ, but you can feel the frustration rising daily.
NZIS is in for a shock I think when the current lot of EOIs expire in June, they've gone through their priority cases but the supply EOIs being re(registered) has dwindled to a trickle.
If they'd communicated properly a lot of people would have waited a bit before submitting their EOIs, incurring less frustration and ensuring a steadier stream of EOIs. However, they would have taken in a LOT less money at this point...
Please continue to keep us updated with these gems of info.
Cheers,
Evelynne |
