so, where would you live, if you could? if you're already there, you could either vote for where you are, or where you would prefer to be, if it's somewhere else. if i've not quite hit the right spot, please specify the location more clearly. please also tell us about your reasons if they're not too private. Smile

What if you aren't sure? I am thinking we will need to be in the Nelson area to find work for my husband (Wood Processing). But I know there is also such work in the southland. I think I would prefer Kaikoura or the West Coast. Living in Wisconsin most of my life, I want to be on the beach with views of the mountains. MMmmm... guess I am not ready to cast my vote! Confused

Headed for North Shore Auckland and will end up in either one of the East Coast Bays or on a lifestyle block near Dairy Flats (not to be confused with Foot Rot Flats....for those in the know), Orewa, Okura or some such place! Can't make up oue mind between suburbia and a house plus 10-20 acres!!! It's a tough choice eh!!!!!

Actually THE LAND of LOTR and Middle Earth is Moseley Bog, Sarehole Mill, Perrots Foley and Water-Works Tower (the later now demolished) in Birmingham, UK! JRR's Schools, (which I also attended for a time) can also be found here.....and don't let anyone forget it!

NZ is The Land of the Long White Cloud!

PS. You wouldn't want to have filmed it here though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'sup everybody?

I think that Taupo is where we will live in Aotearoa (the land of the long white cloud). It is a beautiful town with beautiful surroundings. I will never forget that skydive Razz Having said that, being as we are not limited to one place for the rest of our lives we will probably move around - I don't want to miss anything! Rolling Eyes

It will be tough moving from the real LOTR land, though... Wink

p.s. go for the house with the acreage, Karl, you know you want to!

Land - and lots of it!

I have a while yet, but one day I would love to have a big house and especially lots of land. That would be awesome. Razz Space is one of the greatest feelings you have in New Zealand. The house will have to be pretty big as all my family have staked a claim to a room for when they come over! You & family will be welcome, too! In fact, you can all come Nice One

I too, enjoy a jaunt on the slopes. It has been a while, but once in NZ I hope to rekindle my passion and try not to break too many limbs Wink

Another great thing about NZ - the outdoor opportunities. I can't wait.

Go for the house with land - your kids will thank you for it. (quick before I snap it all up!)

I think for me it would have to be bay of plenty not visited it but it sure looks nice Razz, but seems all the work for engineers (what I can see) is in Auckland I suppose North Shore will suffice, but I keep changing my mind so I will probably want to live somewhere else next week.
