| I don't think I saw another thread for this purpose, so...just wondering if you have to have a job offer before getting a work visa prior to arriving in NZ? Is it a longshot if you aren't qualified for any of the OSL professions? |

it seems like more and more people are getting confuse with this work permit/visa thing.
Can anyone here give us a definite answer of how to go about this : we need a work permit/visa in order to work, but then we won't be granted one if we don't have a job offer in NZ. So, egg first, or chicken first?
HELP! |

I think this could be the best answer for the egg ang chicken dilemma..
NZ employers have to present to NZIS a justification that they cannot find anybody qualified for the position inside NZ before hiring from overseas. This is what I gathered from my contacts in NZ while I was there. The problem also is that no too many employers are keen on doing interviews by phone and even video conference.
So as far getting that illusive JO, you may use a NZ based agency or continue to do the search on your own.
I am planning to get both of them but so far I havent got any particular agency. Well if anybody has one to recommend that will be very much helpful. |
