Hi to all,
I plan to fly to N.Z. on a tourist visa to find a job in electronics, I must have a job offer. My occupation is on the OSL.
A few things concerns me / don't understand.
It seems to me that most agencies are in or around Auckland while the Electronic industries are in Christchurch. Am I right? If so, should I stay in Auckland or in Christchurch, for interviews?
What kind of difficulties may I have if I'll apply for a work permit considering my status as a tourist?
Do I have to file an EOI or I can work as long as the visa permits me, and try to get residency latter?
I'll be 55 at the and of this year. Will I be able to apply for residency after the age of 55? |

Hi Yoji2 (who, I wonder, is Joji1??),
I'm afraid I don't know anything about the electronics industry...but if you apply for permanent residency aged 56 or older, NZIS will reject you!!
I suspect that potential employers will know this, and you may find it difficult to persuade someone to offer employment given you may only be allowed to stay in NZ temporarily.
