Hi Moorf
Start getting stuff together now, there is so much info to collect.
Also start thinking about booking your medicals you can always cancel them if there is no progress but if there is you are ready to go, its a 3 to 4 week wait here. You can get them cheaper in NZ but if you have anything in your past history they will flag it up and need medical reports etc, much easier to do this whilst still in the UK.
If the timings continue the same you will get an invitation to apply in about 5 weeks. Ours is on its way ..... allegedly and we want to get it submitted before we leave for NZ.
What date do you fly?
We are going out to have a mini celebration tonight so much good stuff happened yesterday feel great, tuesday was awful, thanks for your support Sue if you read this.

Hi Michelle - thanks will get medicals underway - trouble is we are currently without a doc's surgery as we are here in Worthing temporarily (haha thank god!).....
Has anyone gone private in the UK for medicals and what was the cost....
Anyway - we fly to Chch on 21 Sept but now we have more time to look around (IF we get the PR) we shall be travelling throughout NZ and checking out places we might like to live / work. I suspect Chch / South Island will still be fav's tho.....
I assume, Michelle, that once you start the process via email / online that we won't be sent any "paper" forms? If we are to get the Invitation in 5 weeks we shall only be 1 week away from flying to NZ and probably in a slight state of panic as it is!! Of course we shall have someone forwarding post for us if it DOES come in the post....
We had a bottle of champers at a friends house last night by way of a mini celebtration of our initial selection... (any excuse!! ) (do we have a drunk-dancing-banana??!) but we'll leave any family bashes until we are sure we have it! Don't want to tempt fate!
Hope your celebrations went well - assume you're not flying out anywhere today
We'll have to meet up for a pint when in your neck of the woods!

We paid £50 for the Chest X Ray at BUPA and £80 for the medical. there is a list on the Immigration web site of approved Doctors. I had my medical last week it was a bit premature but they did want some extra information. We didn't book Richards as everyone said (and we thought) it was too soon but now we are in a state of panic because they can't do it until the end of Aug and it takes a week after to get the blood test results back before they can write the report
Its a difficult situation do you get them done and then hope you get to submit within the 3 months they are valid for or panic because you can't get them done quick enough. Our experience is that we should have got them both done.
Dont forget you police certs either, go down to the police station and they fill the form in for you, take passport and drivers licence with you. Its £10 and can take up to 6 weeks.
The only paper communication we have had is to confirm our selection obviously we would have had more e mails if we had given the correct address. You can also log on to the immigration web site to see if it changes to verifying, dont get addicted though. I'm addicted to this site, Richard has a major problem with the immigration site.
I think you are right to fly straight out there, we just want to get there now although we know once we arrive its going to be stressful so the temptation is to take a week somewhere to chill out, something we never do but feel like we need at the moment.
Work is an inconvenience at the moment but they have been so good with me I keep doing my bit. Don't want to be too premature with the celebrations but feel we can allow ourselves a mini celebration tonight.
If you make it up to Auckland on your travels we will meet up or if and when (NZ limited leave allowing) we make it to Christchurch, a beer or 2 would be excellent idea.
