Holidays - How Many and When?
The legal minimum annual-leave in New Zealand is currently three weeks, plus eleven days of public-holidays.
Many companies offer longer holidays - up to four weeks is typical - linked to the number of years you have worked for the company or possibly negotiated from the time you begin a new job.
Four weeks holiday will become the legal minimum annual leave as of April 1, 2007.

In addition to these ten days, each region / city has one public holiday on its anniversary day.
For example the 2007 local public holidays are; Auckland - 29 January, Christchurch - 16 November and Wellington - 22 January.
